Regenerative agriculture is a holistic and integrated approach based on practices, principles and outcomes that leads the crop to more sustainable patterns. By recovering soil, diversifying biodiversity, giving a wise usage for water and applying better pest control techniques regenerative agriculture allows crops to be naturally more productive while healthier for consumption and for the environment. Nowadays agriculture is responsible for 23% of total anthropogenic GHG emissions (including 37% of methane emissions), for 50% of global deforestation by crop land expansion, for 70% of water consumption and the leading cause of waterway pollution and biodiversity loss. In this context, the aim of this project is to apply regenerative agriculture in representative farmers from Europe and use indicators to prove that it’s possible to create productive more sustainable crops.
